Road users are asked to comply with all temporary traffic restrictions and to drive with care when travelling in the vicinity of the road works.
The Department has programmed the work operations and traffic management arrangements to minimise inconvenience however, whilst steps have been taken to accommodate local access, road users should expect some delays and are advised to allow additional time when travelling in the vicinity of the works.
Subject to favourable weather conditions, the works are anticipated to be completed by Friday 5th April 2026.

A carriageway resurfacing scheme on Lagmore Avenue, Belfast commenced on Wednesday 18 March 2026.
The scheme extends for a distance of 1.25km from the Stewartstown Road to the roundabout at Mount Eagles Road and will complement the ongoing Active Travel Scheme in the area.
To facilitate the resurfacing scheme, it will be necessary to implement full daily road closures on Lagmore Avenue, between the hours of 9.30am and 4.30pm from 30 March until 3 April 2026.
During periods of closure a diversion will be in place via Stewartstown Road, Lagmore Dale, Lagmore Glen, Lagmore View Road, Mount Eagles Mews, Mount Eagles Road.

Temporary Continuous Road Closure to part of C309 Skeagh Road, Kinallen from its junction with C309 Black Bog Road to its junction with U4040 Mayfield Avenue.
This closure is required in the interests of public safety due to the partial collapse of a bridge on this stretch of road.
A local diversion is in operation via C309 Skeagh Road, C310 Diamond Road and C328 Banbridge Road.

Castlereagh - A resurfacing scheme is underway on the Beechill Road between Purdysburn Road and Newtownbreda Road.
From 9 March 2026 to the start of May 2026 full road closures (Monday to Friday only – between 8am and 6pm) will be utilised on Beechill Road, between Purdysburn Road and Newtownbreda Road, to allow works to proceed.
A diversion route will be signed along Purdysburn Road, Beechill Road, Saintfield Road, A55 Newtownbreda Road, Belvoir Road, C302 Newtownbreda Road and Beechill Road.
Subject to favourable weather conditions it is anticipated that the works will be substantially complete by Friday 1 May 2026.
As part of the ongoing public realm enhancement works associated with the Belfast Grand Central Station project, improvement works are due to take place on Great Victoria Street and in the Hope Street areas.
These works will begin on Sunday 1st March and are expected to be completed by the end of the March.
To safely complete footpath and kerb improvements, a number of lane closures will be in place along Gt Victoria Street, both North bound and South bound over the duration of the works.
There will also be limited access (one-way Westbound only) between Great Victoria Street and Boyne Bridge Place via Hope Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.
Access to and from the Great Northern multi-storey car park remains available on the eastern side of the square, that runs along the side of the Hampton by Hilton Hotel, from Great Victoria Street end of Hope Street only.
Translink is continuing to encourage people to consider using public transport to access the city during these public realm works as road users may expect some delays in the area.

- Works at the western end of Hope Street will start on Monday 12 January and requires the left turn slip road into Sandy Row to close. There are diversion routes in place and access to Sandy Row is still available from Linfield Road, Boyne Bridge Place and Wellwood Street.
- Works at the eastern end of Hope Street will start on Monday 19 January and require closure of one lane (the southern lane) and the parking bays. Access is still available onto Great Victoria Street
These are the start of works to Hope Street that are likely to take approximately 4 months in total - for Belfast Transport Hub.
Due to works on a damaged vehicle safety barrier, there will be no access from the Ardmore Road onto the A6 Glenshane Road for north bound traffic. Diversion in place via Ardmore Rd and re-joining the A6 at Tullyally.
